How To Be Green in 2015!

 In blog

You want to be green in 2015? Revampt Goods has a few ways you can incorporate a more eco-friendly lifestyle into your year. Let’s say you are already recycling, saving energy, using the bus or walking, learn a few additional ways in today’s post to steward the environment!

Recycle your food waste into your yard! Composting is the single most important supplement you can give your garden soil. It adds nutrient- rich humus which fuels plant growth and restores vitality. You can put everything from kitchen scraps to shredded paper to dryer lint in your compost. A word to the wise: a layer of soil will help mask odors, and will help accelerate the composting process.

Grow Your Own Food

Even if you don’t have a yard, you can start small growing your own food. Even a window ledge or a patio would be sufficient. Start small, with a window box or a raised bed on your patio. If that intimidates you, then visit a local community garden and volunteer. As a trade off, perhaps you can bring home some extra vegetables!

Process Your Own Food

Get acquainted with your food at a whole new level. It seems almost archaic, but so rewarding. Brewing, fermenting, brazing, curing are all apart of being a participant in your food preparation. It does take time, but the payoff is incomparable with healthy food without additives or preservatives. You can make your own chocolate, butter, yogurt, kombucha, beer, pretty much anything you desire- to a degree- you can make from your own kitchen!
