Every-Day-Use Things You Can Easily Reuse

 In blog

An essential part of being green and making our Earth a better place is the action of reusing. Reuse is the first move that comes in the green slogan of Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. Each one of them is different but paramount, and that is why is important to apply the three of them in our lives. Reusing will automatically reduce the consumption of natural resources, such as wood.

At Revampt we know how important it is to reutilize and to work with resources we already have in existence. That is why we sell home products fabricated from raw materials like bicycle wheels, tires, old machinery and more. Let’s take a look at some daily use items you can easily reuse at home.

We are so thrilled that @coloradohomesmag chose to include owner Daniel Louis in their Design Makers 2016 feature! 3 Daily Used Items to Reuse

Plastic Bags

Over 1 trillion plastic bags are used every year worldwide, and about 2 million plastic bags are used every minute around the world (Earth Policy Institute stats). These are alarming numbers. We have plastic bags at shops, restaurants, in cereal boxes; virtually every single item we buy at the supermarket comes in a plastic bag. Wash your bag and save it for future use. You can use them to wrap sandwiches, bag your lunch, for pet waste bags, in trash bins and to carry your groceries once more!

Plastic Bottles

Similar to plastic bags, we use plastic bottles and containers many times a day. Most things we use on a daily basis come in plastic bottles: shampoo, lotions, liquid soap, house cleaners, orange juice, milk, sodas, even water! Wash your bottles and save them to be reused. Get soap and house cleaners refills and reuse the bottles. You can learn how to repurpose jugs and soda bottles into brooms, bird feeders, food bins, dust pans and even self-watering seed pots. But glass bottle can also be made into amazing things, tumblers, lamps and so much more. Come check us out at Revampt Goods in Cherry Creek!

Towels and Clothes

It’s easy to think that when seasons change, we need to throw out our entire closet and get a new one. Instead, learn how to reuse your old clothes, donate to charity, and do not get rid of things that can still be used, even though they’re not trending. Believe us; trends always come back!  Buy just what you need, not what you want. It’s a change of mentality. Do not throw away old towels. Cut them into cleaning rags. Torn t-shirts can be used to create braided rugs or necklaces. There are many ways to upcycle old clothes and turn them into new.

We constantly share DIY projects to learn how to reuse. Stay tuned for ways of reusing plastic bottles and upcycle old clothes in our upcoming posts.
